Flight CPT to JNB | SA354 | 08 July
Some flights stay with you long after you’ve landed. It’s never just about going from Point A to Point B.
Sometimes, it’s the person in the seat beside you, the hum of the aircraft, or the view from the window. But on this particular day, it was the people, the crew, who turned a routine flight into something quietly extraordinary.
From the moment I checked in with Roland (I hope I got his name right!), there was a sense of care and genuine welcome. And then, onboard, I met a team that reminded me why I still believe in the magic of flying:
- Mr Molefi Molefe: A true professional whose passion for aviation shines in every word. He carries a wealth of experience and shares it generously.
- Ms Tshepisho Munyai: Warmth simply radiates from her. It’s not something you can teach; it’s who she is.
- Ms Jordan Mays: Young in years, yet grounded and graceful beyond measure. It’s so clear that she truly loves what she does.
- Ms Thobekile Khoza (Thobi): Intuitive, attentive, and absolutely on point. She read the room and knew what we needed before we even asked.
I felt the SAA love. It was sincere. It was human.
Yes, South African Airways has had its challenges, but if this flight was any indication, they are back. With heart. With grace. With pride. It wasn’t just about delivering service; it was about creating a beautiful, welcoming experience for every single passenger on that plane.
As I write this, I’m still smiling. We weren’t just passengers; we were guests in their care. It felt like being welcomed into someone’s home, where comfort, joy, and dignity were top priorities.
For this crew, it’s not just a job. It’s a calling. And as one of them told me, it’s a lifestyle, woven into the fabric of who they are.
To the incredible SA354 team: thank you. Thank you for doing what you do with such heart and purpose.
