During one of our site visits, we had the pleasure of meeting Freda, a sommelier at Oldenburg Vineyards. She was exceptional — and a reminder that it is these deeply human moments and interactions that make the Winelands so profoundly special.
Her ability to speak about the wines with both knowledge and genuine understanding transformed the tasting into something far more memorable than a simple tasting exercise. She wove stories, history and humour together with effortless ease, making the entire experience feel personal, warm, fun and yet knowledgeable.
The setting itself was spectacular and the venue sophisticated, but it was Freda’s presence — her wit, passion and authenticity — that elevated the experience into something truly unforgettable.
